Identifying development of friendly ties with India and China as the "most important direction" of its foreign policy in Asia, Russia on Tuesday said it will further consolidate dialogue with these countries in a trilateral format as an element of the multi-polar world order.
"We favour scaling up the military-to-military ties with India and as part of the efforts the two countries are holding talks for joint military exercise between the air forces," Chinese Defence Attache in New Delhi Li Chao told PTI. If talks are successful, the Chinese official said the exercise between the two air forces could be held next year.

The two sides signed nine accords, including one on simplifying visa procedures.
"Our relations with emerging, I would rather say emerged, centres of power in the multi-polar world like India and China will remain the priority in our foreign policy in 2008," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
